2014 MEMORIAL ATTENDANCES FOR REST OF THE WORLD
by steve2 inthe october kingdom ministry for the united states reported the 2014 memorial attendances for the us branch office that has subsequently been well discussed in a separate thread.
in that thread, a poster asserted that in some parts of europe the attendance had been higher than last year - but to date no source evidence has been provided.. so, have memorial attendances for other parts of the world been reported in any of the publications such as kingdom ministryyet?.
if so, could you direct me to the source(s).

Steve2 / Problemaddict:
The population in the Netherlands grew 4% in the period 2003-2014, around 640000 additional persons (16.225M ti 16.865M).
So there is certainly a decline in memorial attendees (not to confuse with the growing number of partakers)...and over 640K persons extrato destroy at Armageddon.

It is now 2003.... Where is Armageddon?
by Nosferatu ini find it extremely amusing how each year is passing without armageddon.
"for the year 2000, i visualize a world transformed into a beautiful paradise!
but i don't think that either the present world or its rulers will live to see that day.. we are living in the last days of the system of things.

Not on jw.org - comments regarding bad Jehovah's Witness employees
by jwfacts ini used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.
i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.
i have received a couple recently by email.. i have cut quite a bit out of the following email i received so that the person and company cannot be indentified, but you will get the message.. .

Around two years ago (me being long out), I was hiring for a full-time position at our company. One of the applicants turned out to be a JW, he said that he did a lot of volunteer work for his religion (read: pioneer) and could only work part-time. According to company policy, I could offer him 4 days a week/32 hours, which I did, as he was otherwise qualified.
We actually were in the negotiation process, when I asked for his current salary and what he was looking for. His current salary was slightly higher than I was able to offer, so wanting to be able to convince senior management that we needed to up our offering, I asked for a copy of his current salary slip. When I got it, it turned out to be quite a bit lower than he had stated. I called him to find out what was going on and he claimed that I must of misunderstood, the salary that he mentioned was desired salary, not his current.
We did not hire him.

Hard time coping with shunning
by bsand20 init's almost 1am and i can't sleep...again.
i hate to think the organization is still taking my sleep from me 16 years later but i can't help it.
i run a page on social media for ex jw support and advice and i'm usually there helping others but it definitely takes a toll on me when i'm having to argue and disprove jws that troll my page.

Reverse shunning may be an option. You then hold the cards, rather than pussy-footing around them. Indeed start by locking down you FB account and defriending them. If they are curious about your life they will have to contact you.
Sorry to hear of these hardships. Destructive CULT!

Well, if some of you remember the recent Elders instruction video...the brothers tell this sister who lost her husband that it has been almost a year now and she should get over it. So, although shocking, such loss of natural affection comes straight from "mother". What a sad CULT!
Thanks for sharing your stories...Wow, just wow

Interesting how it is now stay close to the congregation...while up to a few years ago it was stay close to your bookstudy group. With the end so near, they dropped the bookstudy due to fuel prices.

Did the organization admit declining growth and stagnation in today's watchtower?
by kneehighmiah indid anyone catch this quote?
"over seven and a half million witnesses of jehovah really have found him and they truly love him.".
why are they no longer touting "nearly 8 million" witnesses?
-

Actually after giving it some thought, this is probably a smart move.
Surely some dubs in each congregation are aware that they have passed the 8M mark...And surely in many congregations at least one will answer up on how the work is being speeded up by big-J, along the lines of this: "As you can see in the paragraph, at the time the FDS was preparing this article we were only 7.5M publishers. At the Regional Convention, we now heard that we have more than 8M brothers and sisters serving Jehovah. Here we can see how close Armageddon must be; Isn't it great to have the truth."

Great catch!!! (Page 13, Paragraph 5 of the June 15, 2014 WT)
Normally "nearly 8 million" is used. Perhaps the numbers are under pressure.
